The funds raised to date and all future funds are invested through
the Greater
Houston Community Foundation and can only be expended
to non-profit entities, i.e. schools, churches, civic organizations, amateur athletics or other 501(c)3
entities.
We are currently at 96% of our fundraising goal of $25k and appreciate any help you can provide.
The first Ashlyn Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student at Ball High School that graduates in the 2008 academic year.
The scholarship will have a total value of $5,000 and will go to someone planning onm attending a four year university, is in good academic standing and and exhibits the compassion for others that Ashlyn is remembered for.

We have committed to provide two Automatic External Defibrillators for use by the Texas Gulf Surfing Association. These units will be available for both the north and south districts, should a competitor or spectator experience a cardiac event.
